Overview

Green Dynamix is seeking an experienced, team-oriented Controller to lead the financial operations of a growing wholesale plant material sourcing and logistics business serving professional landscaping contractors across the Southeast. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for a financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and helps drive company growth through strong financial leadership, disciplined operations, and collaboration with executive leadership. Green Dynamix serves a regional client base in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, providing consolidated plant sourcing and reliable jobsite delivery services for commercial and high-end residential landscaping projects. The position is based in Lake City, Florida.

The Controller will manage the company’s accounting and team operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This role reports to the company president and partners with other leaders to deliver financial insight and maintain robust financial discipline as we pursue growth in new areas. The Controller will supervise staff across accounting, operations, administrative, and sales support functions, driving improvements in financial processes and reporting systems both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor financial performance and provide reports to leadership; manage payroll processes with accuracy and compliance.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Analyze results, identify trends, and deliver insights to support operational and strategic decisions; maintain accurate financial records and reporting systems.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process; monitor budgets and financial performance throughout the year; manage cash flow and working capital planning.
  • Compliance, Risk Management & Administration: Maintain internal financial controls and accounting procedures; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations including sales tax filings; manage workers’ compensation reporting and compliance; oversee insurance policies and renewals; coordinate with external accountants, tax professionals, and advisors.
  • Employee Benefits & Payroll Administration: Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans; manage Simple IRA plan administration and compliance; support onboarding processes related to payroll and benefits enrollment.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise accounting, operations, administrative, and sales support staff; establish and maintain efficient financial processes; support continuous improvement in accounting and reporting systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field (Required)
  • 5+ years of accounting or financial management experience (Required)
  • Exceptional knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls (Required)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools (Required)
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365: 1 year of experience (Preferred)
  • CPA certification (Preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency and experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations experience is a major advantage (Preferred)
  • Experience in wholesale distribution, logistics, or similar industries (Preferred)

Location and Schedule

The on-site Lake City office is located at 1550 SW Bedenbaugh Lane, Lake City, FL 32025. This position is on-site.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
