Controller

Overview

A prominent client of UHY LLP is seeking a hands-on Controller for a newly created, on-site role. The position will oversee full-cycle accounting, budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and HR duties including payroll and benefits. This is a permanent onsite opportunity with flexibility to support work-life balance. Reporting to the co-presidents, the Controller will enjoy high visibility within the organization. The ideal candidate will bring solid controllership experience in a small to mid-sized business environment and thrive while wearing multiple hats and taking ownership of key processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger management
• Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and HR functions
• Build and maintain budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting processes
• Implement process improvements and clean up existing accounting records
• Serve as the main point of contact for financial operations within the company

Requirements

• Proven controllership experience in small to mid-sized business environments
• QuickBooks experience preferred
• Knowledge of payroll, benefits, and HR processes
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
• Hands-on, adaptable, and collaborative mindset

Location and Employment Details

Location: Canaan, CT. This is a permanent onsite role, directly hired by the client, with reporting to the co-presidents and high visibility within the organization.
