Job Description
Location and Schedule
Location: Prineville, OR 97754. This is an in-office, non-remote position.
Schedule: Monday through Friday.
About the Role
The Controller works closely with operations leadership and project managers to track job costing, evaluate project profitability, and deliver financial insights that support strategic decision making and company growth.
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
- Ensure accuracy of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Produce management reports and financial analysis for leadership
Project & Construction Accounting
- Oversee job costing for drilling and construction projects
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability
- Partner with project managers to review cost variances and margins
- Track Work-in-Progress (WIP) and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
- Manage accounting for change orders, retainage, and progress billings
Financial Operations
- Manage company cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
- Oversee banking relationships and credit facilities
- Coordinate annual audits and tax reporting with external CPA firms
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Team Leadership
- Oversee the accounting department and supervise accounting staff
- Improve accounting workflows and financial systems to support company growth
Qualifications
- Active CPA license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in construction or project-based accounting strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
- Experience managing financial close processes and leading accounting teams

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $130,000 – $180,000 annually
- Starting salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and relevant industry background; candidates with significant construction accounting experience may be considered toward the higher end of the range
- Pay: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
