Position

Commercial Credit Risk Review Officer I

Job Purpose & Scope

Evaluate the quality of loan relationships and the effectiveness of internal controls designed to identify, measure, monitor, and manage credit risk.

Essential Job Functions

Perform independent analyses of corporate and personal financial statements and tax returns, assessing repayment viability of sources.
Review loans to determine the strength of underwriting and asset management practices.
Assess credit quality and the accuracy of assigned risk ratings; recommend appropriate ratings based on findings.
Evaluate business line adherence to credit policy and procedures.
Discuss review findings with the Reviewer-In-Charge and provide recommendations.
Ensure asset quality reports and supporting documentation are thorough and support conclusions.
Support a culture of continuous process improvement and uphold the department's professional practice and quality control standards.
Carry out other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of loan documentation, credit analysis, and financial statement review.
Understanding of basic auditing principles.
Ability to review and analyze small to midsize loans with limited complexity.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and with others.
Desire to learn continuously on the job.
Discretion and sound judgment in decision making.
Capability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Solid organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with computer tools and Microsoft Outlook, including Excel and Word; ability to acquire additional skills as needed.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum of two years of commercial lending experience required.
Minimum of two years of commercial credit experience in a regional bank preferred.
RMA Credit Risk Certification (CRC) preferred.
