Overview
State Bank is seeking a Commercial Banker to grow the business by engaging prospects and existing clients, while cross selling bank solutions that include credit, trust or investment services, and cash management. The role involves research and data gathering, assessing client needs, and delivering financial options that align with their goals. A solid understanding of the local market and proactive relationship development with centers of influence are essential. The position focuses on building both internal and external networks and referral sources to sustain growth. It centers on three key areas: business development and service, relationship planning and management, and risk mitigation, with a goal of achieving profitability and growth targets in the Hendricks County market. The role is based in Brownsburg, Indiana, serving the Brownsburg area.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain commercial banking relationships within the Hendricks County market.
- Participate in market strategy and business development initiatives.
- Collaborate with the banking center staff, mortgage originator, and investment representative to craft a financial plan and ensure customer needs are met, including personal banking needs of the business owner.
- Identify and establish relationships with prospective business customers to grow the portfolio through new client acquisitions.
- Assist the market president and the senior commercial banker in market development and support of the current client base.
- Apply business development and relationship management principles to achieve target sales of commercial lending, as well as deposits and related services.
- Target new relationships with aggregate borrowing needs up to the bank's lending limit.
- Cross-sell other bank products and services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business administration.
- Five years of industry experience with emphasis on outside business development and sales.
