Position Overview
The Chief Finance Officer provides strategic leadership and executive oversight of all financial operations for The Klamath Tribes. This role ensures the integrity, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Tribe’s financial systems and supports organizational decision making through accurate financial and statistical reporting. The CFO safeguards Tribal assets, ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, and aligns financial practices with Tribal policies and long term goals. The CFO directly supervises the Assistant Finance Officer and Fiscal Comptroller and provides indirect oversight to all staff within the Finance Department. Due to the scope and responsibilities of this position, an adjusted work schedule may occasionally be required to meet departmental and organizational needs.

Salary Range: $101,135 – $177,341 annually (Step Range 43–62; Full Benefits)
Hourly Range: $48.62 – $85.26

Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for all financial functions, including accounting, procurement, property management, data processing, and financial reporting.
- Oversee the administration of Federal and State contracts and grants, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and funding requirements.
- Manage and implement Tribal investment policies, ensuring prudent stewardship of Tribal financial resources.
- Maintain and enhance financial systems, internal controls, and operational procedures to support organizational effectiveness and accountability.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to support strategic planning and executive decision-making.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate Finance Department leadership and staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
- Ensure the organization has the financial and statistical information necessary to operate efficiently and meet its mission.
- Represent the Finance Department in executive meetings, Tribal Council sessions, and external audits.
