Salary: $110,000 – $115,000 per year
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Supervises: Finance Supervisor
Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees all fiscal operations and financial reporting for the Care Management Organization (CMO). This role ensures compliance with applicable state and federal reporting requirements and aligns financial activities with regulatory best practices while embodying the CMO's core values.
Essential Functions
- Fiscal Management: Direct and oversee all financial functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
- Financial Reporting: Manage the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and present findings to the CEO and Board of Trustees.
- Budgeting & Strategy: Lead the development of annual and monthly budgets and implement cash management strategies.
- Audit & Compliance: Ensure timely completion of annual financial statements, audits, and required state fiscal reports.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with insurance brokers and carriers for non-benefit-related coverage.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work with Human Resources to secure and maintain employee benefits and insurance.
- Board Relations: Respond to financial data analysis requests from the Board of Trustees and the Fiscal Stability Committee.
Knowledge & Skills
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel and strong command of MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and accounting/payroll software.
- Communication: Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, accessible insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Leadership: Experience directing, supervising, and evaluating finance staff performance.
- Adaptability: Capable of working independently, meeting tight deadlines, and rapidly adjusting to urgent requests.

Requirements
Additional prerequisites include maintaining a valid driver’s license in good standing and having a vehicle available for business use.
Eligibility
Must be eligible to work in State DCF and Medicaid-funded programs.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: At least ten years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including five years in a leadership role within a nonprofit environment.
