Overview

As a Business Banker, you will continue the bank’s tradition of developing and expanding relationships with business owners in your community to help them achieve their financial goals. You will acquire and manage a portfolio of business banking relationships and serve as the primary contact for borrowing needs up to $5MM. You will engage bank partners to provide a full range of deposit and related business services. Larger relationships may be managed with manager approval and/or appropriate partner support. You will develop and maintain an active prospect list, a customer outreach plan, and quality referral sources in accordance with a sales plan to achieve production goals and profitability objectives. Location: Nashville, TN 37212.

Responsibilities

  • Sales – Achieve individual and/or team financial, production and relationship results relative to the specific metrics and goals assigned. Sales outcomes should align with community needs and support the organization's commitment to diverse lending. Engage with customers, prospects and referral sources through proactive outreach. When appropriate, represent the Bank in the community by attending and participating in civic and community events to generate additional business and identify potential CRA opportunities for the Bank. Engage in sales practices that create value for both the customer and the bank. Appropriate partnering, planning and preparation occur to ensure conversations provide the relevant financial guidance needed to drive informed decisions.
  • Service Standards – Foster collaborative partnerships that deliver value for customers, prospects and colleagues. Initiate conversations to uncover sales or referral opportunities. Listen attentively, ask insightful questions to understand customer needs and preferences, and take prompt actions to address immediate needs. Proactively seek ways to optimize performance by pursuing coaching, supporting Bank initiatives and leveraging tools to enhance activities.
  • Operations and Administration – Comply with all regulations, bank policies, procedures and delegated authorities to manage risk related to credit, operational, reputational, regulatory and legal aspects of personal interactions, customer transactions and financial exposures. Complete required training by established deadlines. Perform general office management duties as assigned to ensure operational efficiency. Roles responsible for deposits are accountable for transaction accuracy and operational efficiency of that function. The results may include accountability for individual contribution as well as team performance.
  • This position may be filled as a Business Banker II or III based on the skills and experience of the selected candidate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years experience in business lending, credit or business development.
  • Or High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years experience in business lending, credit or business development.

  • Established COI's and referral sources
  • Financial analysis and credit underwriting skills
  • Knowledge of business lending, deposit and cash management solutions
  • Ability to provide financial guidance and expertise
  • Sales planning and forecasting experience
