Overview

The Banking and Lending Specialist serves as a client facing banking and lending product expert, working directly with clients and in close partnership with Ameriprise Financial Advisors to support client specific banking and lending needs. This role delivers a high touch, white glove client experience by educating clients on bank deposit and lending solutions, supporting account opening and servicing activities, and reinforcing the trusted advisor client relationship. The Specialist operates under the strategic direction of the Banking and Lending Director and concentrates on execution, client engagement, and product education with a growth focus. Location: Hybrid remote in Minneapolis, MN.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and Ameriprise Financial Advisors to address banking and lending needs aligned with advisor financial planning strategies
  • Provide high quality, attentive service through timely responses, clear communication, and personalized client support
  • Educate clients on bank deposit and lending products, including features, benefits, eligibility requirements, and account structures
  • Maintain the trusted Advisor/client relationship by ensuring consistent, compliant, and professional client interactions
  • Assist with client acquisition and onboarding of banking and lending products including checking, savings, CDs, mortgage, home equity, and securities backed lending (as applicable)
  • Support account opening, documentation, and servicing processes in accordance with bank policy and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in banking, lending, or financial services
  • Active Series 7 license or the ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Active Series 63, or 66, or the ability to obtain within 90 days

Preferred Qualifications

  • Client facing / advisor experience supporting deposit and/or lending products
  • Strong understanding of banking products and client service expectations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and financial advisors
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to regulatory requirements
  • Experience in personal banking, lending, or loan origination (Mortgage, Home Equity, Securities‑Backed Lending)
  • Experience supporting high net worth or wealth management clients
  • Prior experience working in partnership with financial advisors or relationship managers
  • Experience as a personal banker/customer service professional (Checking, Savings, CDs and related services)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to problem solve and manage multiple client requests simultaneously

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base salary for this role is $93,400 - $128,400 per year. We maintain a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, and your initial total compensation may vary based on job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
