Overview

Wells Fargo invites an Associate to join the Technology Finance team within the Commercial Bank's Sponsor Credit group, a leader in delivering innovative financing solutions. This role centers on underwriting and portfolio management for software/technology clients, primarily sponsor-backed, within a dedicated team focusing on the technology vertical.

What you'll do

  • Support portfolio management and credit underwriting for an assigned portfolio of technology-focused, sponsor-backed clients, performing transaction due diligence, financial analysis and modeling, credit analysis and monitoring, industry analysis, enterprise valuation, and preparation of credit memoranda.
  • Engage in regular client interaction and relationship management with CEOs, CFOs and private equity sponsors for the assigned portfolio. Collaborate with internal partners in commercial and investment banking to develop and execute relationship plans, and join meetings when relevant.
  • Review credit agreements and other loan documentation while assisting with legal diligence and negotiation. Over time, develop proficiency in structuring, negotiating, and documenting facility agreements.
  • Conduct and frequently present credit and financial analyses to business leadership and Independent Risk Management (IRM) in various forums, including portfolio reviews, pre-screen discussions, and credit/approval committees. Cultivate strong written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Participate in enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and ad-hoc projects to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with peers and functional partners, building internal relationships that enhance role effectiveness. Leverage internal AI platforms to improve efficiency and apply best practices as generative AI tools proliferate.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Mid-Corporate Portfolio Management experience, or an equivalent demonstration through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in sponsor finance at a commercial bank, investment bank, or finance company.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting and financial modeling.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Job Expectations

  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
  • Hybrid work schedule is offered.
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and adhere to policy requirements if hired. Details will be shared during recruitment.

Pay Range

Pay Range: Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$92,000.00 - $145,000.00
