Associate Cost Controller

Overview

Based in Winter Park, Florida, the Associate Cost Controller oversees the division’s complete financial lifecycle, including month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and project cost analysis. This role leads a small accounting team and collaborates with project managers and engineers to drive strong financial performance and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and present results to senior leadership.
• Analyze financial data and develop strategies to support business performance goals.
• Manage daily financial operations for the division.
• Supervise a team of three accountants.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare division-level budgets and forecasts and communicate results to executives.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers on project budgeting and cost control.
• Conduct periodic jobsite visits to review project financials.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Maintain confidentiality, data integrity, and compliance with reporting standards.
• Perform other financial or administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
• Experience supervising or leading a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
