Opportunity
The Assistant Controller role sits within a newly acquired operating company under the IMMEC, LLC parent platform. You will supervise all accounting and financial reporting for the acquired entity, collaborating closely with the parent company’s finance leadership to ensure alignment with group policies, controls, and reporting standards. Reporting to the Controller, this position is essential to establishing disciplined financial processes, accurate project reporting, and scalable systems as the business integrates and grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations for the acquired entity, including general ledger, job cost accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, fixed assets, and cash activity.
- Drive the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Develop and maintain monthly work-in-process schedules, including cost-to-complete analysis, earned revenue, gross margin, and over/under-billings.
- Ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606 using percentage-of-completion methodologies.
- Collaborate with operations and project management to review job performance, budgets, change orders, and margin variances.
- Supervise customer billing processes, including progress billing, retainage tracking, and AIA billing where applicable.
- Oversee accounts payable with vendor management, including invoice intake, coding, approval workflows, payment processing, and vendor reconciliation to ensure accuracy and policy compliance.
- Manage accounts receivable aging and support collections and cash flow forecasting efforts.
- Establish and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures in line with the parent company standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting and financial reporting for the acquired company.
- Support audits, tax filings, insurance and bonding requests, and lender reporting.
- Assist with integration activities, system alignment, and process improvements after the acquisition.
Qualifications
- 6 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in construction, electrical, or project-based industrial services.
- Strong background in job cost accounting, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
- ERP system experience required; NetSuite or similar construction-focused ERP is highly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
- High attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to work independently.
- Effective communicator capable of partnering with operations and parent company leadership.
- On-site availability in Sandersville, GA.
