The program prioritizes your development from day one, providing training in marketing, business development, and client relationship management, along with the tools to support your continuing career growth and a path into leadership.

Who we are seeking

We are looking for driven individuals who want to make a meaningful impact on the financial well-being of individuals, families, and small businesses. Consider the program if you meet any of these criteria:

  • At least 2 years of managerial experience in your most recent role
  • Experience running your own business
  • A MBA or other equivalent degree

If you meet these requirements, the Accelerated Path to Management Program may be a fit. You will begin as a Financial Advisor to learn product positioning, client relationship building, and program requirements before moving into a management track. A six-month intensive Associate Partner training program follows to prepare you to recruit and coach others for success.

Program Phases

Phase 1: Financial Advisor You will gain firsthand experience in the financial professional role during the first year, supported by comprehensive training, access to digital tools, and a full product suite. You will learn to position our products, develop client relationships, and meet program milestones before advancing to management. Note that securities licenses and FINRA registrations are required, and you must affiliate with NYLIFE Securities as a registered representative before offering investment products.

Phase 2: Associate Partner After completing the initial 12 months and meeting specified requirements, you enter a six-month Associate Partner training program to lead and develop your team of financial professionals. Throughout your career with New York Life, opportunities for advancement to higher levels of management will remain available.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting compensation as a financial advisor is commission-based. For details on commission-based income and benefits for financial professionals, please visit the New York Life careers site. If you qualify and are approved to become an Associate Partner, you will receive a salary. The average salary for an Associate Partner is $150,000, plus eligibility for bonuses and other incentives based on the performance of agents in your unit, including additional pay related to the agents you recruit and develop (R&Ds). R&Ds are designed to increase your income and reimburse certain reasonable expenses not otherwise covered. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage; life, long-term disability, and accidental death and dismemberment protections; a pension plan; and a 401(k) savings plan. The organization emphasizes strong income potential, with field managers’ compensation tied to recruiting performance and team production. In 2024, the average income among 617 recruiters at all levels was $285,000.
