Overview
Society Insurance is seeking an Actuarial Associate I to join the Actuarial Department. This exempt, full-time role offers a 40-hour workweek with flexible scheduling and the option to work remotely, provided you are within a commutable distance to the Fond du Lac, WI home office and can be onsite one day per week to support collaboration and deliver an exceptional service experience. The position focuses on reserving, ratemaking, business intelligence, and special projects to ensure rate and reserve adequacy through actuarial methods, collaborating with Claims, Underwriting, Finance, and Information Systems teams. The role is oriented toward property and casualty lines.
About the Role
The Actuarial Associate I utilizes data supplied by Information Technology (IT) to prepare ratemaking and reserving analyses. It supports the development of data and reports for special projects, maintains templates used for ratemaking, reserving, and modeling, and keeps clear documentation of methods and activities. The role also requires passing one Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exam each year.

What It Will Take
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field — OR — 2 years of actuarial work experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with Excel and proficiency in database usage.
- Successful completion of at least one CAS actuarial exam.
- Prior experience in property/casualty insurance is highly preferred.
