Compensation
Hourly rate: $35 to $45. This is a nine month contract with the potential for a permanent hire.
Position Overview
As Accounting Manager, you will be the backbone of financial operations, overseeing general ledger activities, bank reconciliations, and audit support to ensure smooth and compliant processes. You will collaborate with leadership to support strategic initiatives while maintaining accuracy and transparency. This is a nine month engagement with the potential for permanent placement.
Responsibilities
- Manage month end close processes and ensure timely, accurate reporting
- Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy
- Monitor grant accounting and grant compliance, supporting reporting requirements
- Assist with year end audits and prepare necessary schedules and documentation
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Handle ad hoc financial projects and provide analysis for leadership decisions
Required Experience / Skills
- 3 to 7 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and financial software such as Financial Edge or FundEZ
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, and month end close processes
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross functional teams
- Self-starter who thrives in a hybrid, fast paced environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Nonprofit accounting experience
- Familiarity with fund accounting and grant compliance
- Experience supporting year end audits
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- A CPA or an advanced degree is preferred
